Red, White and Blue

My flag of Red, White and Blue

Represents my country

Which means democracy to me

What does it mean to you?

Does it not bespeak of freedom

For which thousands have fought and died

And need we not protect it

From assault from without and within,

Whether from armed foe or destructive lies.

Does not our flag wave

Equally over those of all different hues

And does not democracy

Accommodate all different views?

Methinks it does, and I

Salute the flag and pledge allegiance

And I went when duty called

I served my country's colors

To protect the rights of all

And our country's strength lies

In our ever yearning and search for truth

And especially our exercise of freedom

At the voting booth
