Pressing Restart

On those days I'm out of words

with too much on my mind to say

Caught up in my little world

and the trials of a busy day

I find a quiet refuge, just gazing at the stars

it opens up my cage, and loosens all the bars

My desire is, escape

I don't mean to shut you out

A day lost at the lake

remembering what life's all about

It's the little things that press restart

and salvage peace of mind

Those moments held inside your heart

when stress begins to make you blind

A deep breath and some time to think

to wring out the worries in my head

Nature heals me, in a wink

to move on, and push ahead

nature poetry

Pressing reset, just a little time & space for renewal, to recharge, is just so important for all of us. And, as always, Kelli, you say it so extremely well.

This is such a beautiful, relaxing and soothing poem!

  • Wow I really connected with that one! Really felt the whole thing! Especially the opening lines, out of words, too much to say, that was fantastic!

  • This felt like serenity in words

A lovey poem, Kelli! I find my respite and reset in nature, too!
