I want to feel my hands in the Earth

Feeling deep joy as we work

This life is not mine alone

I can use it for the betterment of our home

Our home that is our Dearest Mother

She provides it all for my sisters and brothers

I feel so drawn to connecting with the land

After reading your book, I finally understand

The call to grow food and restore wild places

To give and receive, and always be gracious

So far I've spent my days in revelry and awe

Thankful for nature, and all that I saw

But there's really much more than offering thanks

That I can give, as I walk these river banks

We must live in partnership with the land

With an open heart and raised hands

I promise I will do all that I can
