Reason for Comfort

A love of Blessing

By Dwayne O ConnorPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
Comfort is Relative

Barring intrusion from this wayward, wicked world

Redeeming a pass of silent music, as slick as a salty pearl

The forthcoming storm approaching fast from the East

Is no match for the embrace of the community enjoying a feast

The essence of a world near past and near relent

Offers no peace, no joy if no effort is spent

The hard days and anxious nights

Come to pass when the level of keeping holds no fright

Hold onto the smile that greets your heavy head

All these releases fight off the dread

Unexpected embraces from those who care indeed

Can only show you love in your time of need

Special ones who share your space

Bring you more of that warm embrace

Collecting these moments of love

Counting the times, we share

Can bring one the peace

In knowing that we do, in fact, care

Holiday feasts, silent nights, sharing of stories together

With no heed of place, status, or fervor

Will lead us to trust never broken, times never forgotten

And love never rotten

Hold all these times, with loved ones near

Partners, children, friends, and those held dear

The joy in knowing and stability we yield

Will be best used in the daily tread, as your most trusted shield

Our days are sometimes a challenge and offer no respite

When we go on forever, our souls we often fight

Cherish we must, the enveloping of love and trust

Remembering all the care, each day we must

Warm tea at dawn, a delectable treat, admired dwelling and occasional fawn

Can hold off your rush, your stumble and tattered gown

Remember all you have earned in this world of quick

And use your shield, that saves you from getting sick

About the Creator

Dwayne O Connor

Just a lover of literary expression no matter the genre. Spent too many years living a strange and extraordinary life not to eventually write about it and all the phenomenal beings I've encountered.
