And this NEEDS to be at the forefront of narratives
True Masters are most often quiet
since they got nothing to prove
Connection rooted in our bones
filters down without end
Thus
we built without blueprints
Distinguished medicinal from poisonous plants
Swam the coral beds and knew where to look
But
you thought
we had to sit in classrooms
and demonstrate mathematical abilities
while the cosmos was born in us
and in fact
you felt inferior
exerting monumental effort
to convince us we were stupid
as we crafted
tools that you harvested with
garments without measured guidance
medicines from the abundance of our knowledge
that kept your sorry asses alive

it is profound to slow down and think about how much we, in this current day, benefit from the actions, discoveries, and creations from those before us. we take so much for granted these days. We are so conditioned to believe that in order to get ahead, we have to tear down the other person. Yet the greatest things we have in this life came to be because human beings, such as the Native Americans, stuck together and worked together and achieved great accomplishments. Thank you for writing this!
