Reality is where dreams go to die The graveyard of unaccomplished desires A burial ground of hopes and wishes Final resting place of possibilities and expectations

Reality is the stone-cold casket For feverish wants and childhood fantasies Where could bes, would bes and maybes Never see the light of day It's life's frontal face slap to wake you from utopia Reminding you that life is a grind and not a useless fairy tale

Reality is the not-so-gentle reminder that Life is messy and that shit happens The sudden realization that we each walk alone Each and every day one step at a time Dealing with life any way we can

In reality world and present speak Dreams are distant memories of times past and hopes gone by Reminders of whimsical thoughts and grand wishes Stored in old boxes hidden in dark cellars Expunged from the present and harsh daylight

Reality is the real-world tomb Where dreams take their well-deserved rest From the brutal heartache and pain Of unfulfilled purpose, truncated aspirations, and dashed hopes
