A poem about the feelings around diagnosis.
By Tufty LandPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

How could no-one notice
A puzzle piece like me?
With all my weird habits
And pedantic intricacies.
How could no-one spot
The colours in my soul?
My heart was on my sleeve
Weather worn but it was whole
Why was I the only one
Who understood my world?
With my eyes I could see
Secrets only for this girl.
I never understood myself
Until I was diagnosed
Despite there being no difference
To the girl I was before
I’m a strange individual
Some may say a freak
But one thing I am proud of -
I love being me.
