Reaffirmation

A fire lit, an open flame, the flow of winters breeze,

No hindrance towards our gathering, neither cough, nor the sneeze,

A quiet moment together, a glance with a loving sight,

Poured out, a drink offering, an astonishing and beautiful, delight,

A simple and meager feast, the steak was not the choicest piece,

But any meal shared with you, I’d consider it increase,

The conversation together, the laughter, the feelings expressed, so contrite,

The reconciliation, the expression, the words exchanged throughout the night,

A willing ear, a hopeful heart, an inspiration towards the flame,

Steadfast resolve, cheerful fight, neither slander to point, nor the redirection of the blame,

The acknowledgement, the concession, the renewal of our parts,

A heartfelt song, a pleasant tune, the kindling, of our hearts…
