Reading a Sonnet in My Bonnet

As I sit here in my Brooklyn backyard Basking in the sun in my fluffy satin bonnet I let down my guard Reading a classic Shakespearean Sonnet My yellow pampas grass curtsies in the sunlight As my snake plants dance in my window sills My chocolate hugh luminates so bright Giving my garden boy lover chills April showers certainly inspired my May flowers But jazz and jumping rope in June Have me dancing all through July for hours I bask my amethyst and rose quartz in the New Moon My pink matter prances on my partner this hot summer day Til the rainy memorial weekend showers washes our sins away

As I sit here in my Brooklyn backyard

Basking in the sun in my fluffy satin bonnet

I let down my guard

Reading a classic Shakespearean Sonnet

My yellow pampas grass curtsies in the sunlight

As my snake plants dance in my window sills

My chocolate hugh luminates so bright

Giving my garden boy lover chills

April showers certainly inspired my May flowers

But jazz and jumping rope in June

Have me dancing all through July for hours

I bask my amethyst and rose quartz in the New Moon

My pink matter prances on my partner this hot summer day

Til the rainy memorial weekend showers washes our sins away
