Rani Padmini
A heartfelt tribute to the remarkable queen of the Mewar kingdom in 13th–14th century India

In the land of Mewar, where valor bloomed, Lived Rani Padmini, her beauty renowned. Her grace like moonlight, her courage unyielding, A queen who stood tall, her honor shielding.
Captured by tales, Ratan Sen set forth, To win her heart, prove his worth. From Sinhalese shores to Chittor’s embrace, Their love blossomed, destiny’s sweet grace.
But fate played its hand, cruel and severe, Alauddin Khalji, Delhi’s Sultan, drew near. Ratan Sen imprisoned, the kingdom in strife, Padmini’s beauty coveted, threatening their life.
Devapal of Kumbhalner, smitten by her sight, Proposed marriage, seeking her as his light. Yet Ratan Sen returned, duel in the fray, Both warriors fell, their lives swept away.
Chittor besieged, Khalji’s forces amassed, Padmini faced a choice, her honor steadfast. Jauhar flames blazed, her resolve unwavering, Rajput men fought, their courage engraving.
In the annals of history, her legend remains, A Hindu queen who defied invaders’ chains. Rani Padmini, forever etched in valor’s song, Her sacrifice echoes, brave and strong.
