Raksha Bandan

A Promise..........

By Shalika V.Published 6 years ago 1 min read

I remember a time when I was little,

When daddy's hand was decorated with colorful threads,

I asked what was the fuss all about,

I sure was confused, without doubt,

Mom told me all about raksha bandhan,

I felt quite lonely without a bro you know,

A few years later you came,

I was the one who kept your name,

And then I remember our first rakhi,

You were crying on and on,

I didn't know what to do,

So I sang "Happy birthday to you"!

I tied you a rakhi, but you were focused on TV,

You gave me my gift, a little pink lunchbox,

I shouted and danced with happiness,

I kissed you on your cheek, and don't you wipe that kiss off now!

I' m happy to have you BHANU,

No matter what, I will always LOVE YOU............
