Rainy Panes

Depressed and Hungry

Awakening to rainy panes,

Another quiet night

Is broken by a faint alarm

That’s blaring out of sight.

"Don’t bother rising off the couch."

The languid voices say,

"Stay here with us and rest a while,

Tomorrow we can play."

A face fills up the rainy panes

That's grinning ear to ear,

With savage, feline intention

She whispers “Don’t be scared.”

You rag doll in her subtle paws

And shiver, getting wet,

Tasting freshly washed atmosphere,

She’s a sticky syrup.

You’re drowning with the pancakes.

She eats you for breakfast.
