As the sea clashes in the light,

Its colour does show true,

Just as a bat flies in the night,

My eyes are coloured blue.

But that’s not the unique thing about me,

For millions have blue eyes,

For them to see,

But so few of them also say lugs and ayes.

For Scottish am I with saltire a’flying,

tartan clad, a member of the LBGTQA+ community and proud,

No way is LGBTQA+ pride a’dying,

For we have worked too hard and been too loud.

The rainbow and its family of brothers and sisters,

An’ also those who don’t have a gender,

Of Mz’s, and Miss’s and misters,

During pride its like we are in a big blender.

For we support one another to make it through,

The sunny days and the terrible blues,

We march as a reminder we deserve respect and kindness too,

And sometimes our marches make it on the local news.

And that is the uniqueness about me

for I am a Scottish lgbtqa+ gender neutral person with blue eyes and tartan clad,

and though sometimes I wish you’d see,

the rainbow tartan I wear a tad.
