Rainbow Ring Moon

My Love For You

Alone with you beyond Suburbian Gates,

Where vivid rainbows form around the moon,

I stare and try to think of hues

Unthinkable to me,

in awe of every wavelength,

Every color frequency;

Although the visible light spectrum

Consists of less than one percent,

Somewhere in my head

It seems the light gets bent

through synesthesia filtered perceptions

Of my watercolor comprehensions

Sealed inside this mind’s-eye view.

I wonder what’s inside yours, too...

As a sea of smoke floods the brilliant sky,

Floating over this moon-lit night,

I lock my gaze beyond the fire

into the gradient of your infinite eyes,

When I notice it for the very first time-

my incomprehensible love for you

-my very own mystery,

my rainbow ring moon.
