Quietude

Whisps of clouds glide

leisurely across

the open sky,

driven by the breeze

on their way

to destinations

unknown, or perhaps,

going nowhere in particular.

I savor the simple charm

of this place of quietude.

.

I do not bother

marking the time.

Rather, I gaze only

at the vast expanse

of blue and light.

If this is not

peace, it is

certainly something

that rhymes,

heralding possibilities

previously unimagined.

Great use of the words. I like the lines about something “rhyming” with peace
