Quicker Than I Thought

Take what you can't get

Steal what you can,

And if that ain't good enough

Then make a better plan.

Sometimes things don't make sense

And for that there is no recompense.

But if you get some compensation,

(Besides your sad imagination),

Then please just call me right back,

Though there's no way you can make up

For everything you lack.

Here I come slowly shuffling along

Humming to myself... someone else's song.

They say it ain't stealing if you don't get caught.

I tried my best to take it

But they were quicker than I thought.

So now I sit here rotting

In this jail cell,

No need for you to love me,

But you sure can wish me well.
