No matter when or how we meet

And how we play these chess,

The end is always bittersweet,

Like chocolate, I guess.

You move a pawn, I move a pawn,

With overpracticed ease;

It's hard to tell what's gowing on

But something really is -

Again the king and queen who fought

Are hanging by a thread,

It melts as soon as things get hot

And flows through fingers spread.

When all the squares turning brown,

What would we care who wins the crown?
