The other side

What it is, or what it was

We shall never know because

Like so many fairy tales

It defied accepted scales -

Not below and not above,

On the other side of love.

As for any thoughts and deeds -

Like so many colored beads,

They still glitter in the sun

One for all and all for one;

Not too rare and not too rife,

On the other side of life.

And, with thanks to all concerned,

Now it's time for lessons learned,

Just in case again we shall

Be affected by a spell

Not unlike, but not the same -

On the other side of sane.
