once a particle interacts
it’s forever bound a pact
and those which you readily consume
become your body until exhumed
.
those who eat fruits
are in communication with trees
the living beings
alive on the breeze
.
their nature is god
now alive within you
feel the vibrancy
and magic renew
.
but those eating murdered flesh
are in communication with the dead
carcasses and bones,
and severed heads
.
one willingly offers
you it’s life,
to spread its seed
with no suffering or strife
.
the other is slaughtered
and hacked apart
to feed you and your children
it’s tortured heart
.
what is food
if not information?
affecting every cell
programming many generations
.
infusing you
with life or with death
it’s your freewill choice
whether or not to be blessed
.
don’t cry victim
don’t try to blame
when you suddenly realise
your body is inflamed
.
and realise no pill
can be prescribed
to quantumly disconnect
you from this ride
.
isn’t it fun?
doesn’t it feel swell?
being connected to tortured souls
that you sent into hell

Life feeds upon death. Your poem is fruitful.
Getting us thinking again, Ms Fraser. Love this. I am not sure I completely agree...but that's alright. I like what you say about fruits and how they connect us and offer themselves willingly. That was lovely and the harsher side of the piece is written powerfully and eloquently too. Well done all round.
don’t cry victim don’t try to blame when you suddenly realise your body is inflamed Lol, I loved this stanza the most! Because like, they did that to themselves and then they wanna cry and whine when they finally experience the consequences of their own decisions? Like it's just so funny to me. Gosh I love your poem so freaking much!
Well, Kayleigh, I admire the spirit of this, it's very well written and there's some science in there, too. I'm not sure we see the quantum connection to God in the same light, but that's ok. I think you've stated your stance clearly and boldly. Kudos! I do have to say that I found a bit of wry humor in "doesn't it feel swell?" after touching on inflammation, but that's just my twisted mind.
I'm curious about how this sets mankind as something separate from the natural world, like we transcend us. Personally, I am quite pro-vegan. I am not vegan, but I have lived with one for 24 years and I do believe its the better choice for us, as humans, but I'm not convinced by the idea of communion with the dead vs blessings of renewable life. I cannot condemn a leopard any more than a gnu!
