Quaddemic hits the Uk
In the stillness, a shadow creeps,
A quaddemic’s grasp, where silence weeps.
Streets once alive, now hushed and bare,
The weight of worry hangs heavy in the air.
Eyes that once sparkled are dimmed by the plight,
A world shrouded in darkness, devoid of light.
Empty halls echo with whispers of dread,
As uncertainty shadows the path we tread.
Lives intertwine in a fragile dance,
Yet fate has altered this precarious chance.
The rhythm of hope falters, plans fall apart,
A heavy cloak wraps around each heart.
In worried glances and unspoken fears,
The quaddemic stirs as it nourishes tears.
Amidst the chaos, a call to connect,
But in this quiet, we ache and reflect.
So be safe, be vaccinated, to halt death and the spread,
As compassion ignites in the face of our dread.
Though no end is certain, and futures are blurred,
Together we stand, though our voices are stirred.
Now Covid, sore throat, cough, the winter flu-
-the vomiting bug, all at once draw near,
In this tempest of illness, we gather our fear.
But with hearts intertwined and resolve ever clear,
We’ll navigate this darkness, embracing each tear.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

This is a poem that we will, sorry to say we will have to learn to live with. We can hope though that one day there may be a cure for these four illnesses. Good work.
Wishing to resolve it soon, UK!
