Puppet Show

Memory of a lost art

Many years back

when I was in homeland India,

I was working in a region

away from home.

I was an assistant professor

in a university,

teaching biotechnology

But always, I was eager

to learn the culture a place,

where I lived.

So, I was visiting

this heritage museum.

There were these puppet shows

a lost art now.

Times were simpler,

people after agriculture work

at simple foods,

and we went to see

puppet shows on epics.

The same people

now talk of Facebook, Instagram,

YouTube, WhatsApp.

Times change,

now we are being

captivated by technology.

We are not realizing yet,

but we are almost puppets,

they know how to

pull our strings,

and dance to their whims.
