I love nature-based art,
so old Japanese paintings,
are so soothing.
I see sparrows on persimmon,
warblers on plum or cherries,
white-eyes on camellia,
swallows in rice fields,
cranes near cattails.
It comforts my weary soul,
so, I paint it a lot.
Givers like plants,
and gentle critters like birds,
are symbols of peace.
No wonder,
I watch the crow
feeding on coral tree flowers,
and felt a rush of joy.
As I sit on a wooden bench
under a cottonwood canopy,
and saw a hummingbird
resting on a bare branch
gave me much happiness.

Looking for calmness?
Go no further than
plants and birds.

Watching the birds is a fun activity, and if on a good day just go out lay on the ground and close your eyes and just listen to the birds. Soothing birdsong.
