Brown parents, white girlfriend, black cousin
I believe in equality but some of the world doesn’t
White people are memes now, Karens can scream how
They’re not racist, they know a single black female
While their husbands yell at protesters at intersections
I’m watching friends become enemies over presidential elections
The color of your skin can decrease your net worth
Or it can be the reason you got hired at that network
The blue side makes my head hurt
The red side makes me question my self worth
I’m not white, I’m not black, I’m not red, I’m not blue
I’m brown, I’m Hawaiian, my blood is ocean infused
My people gave you surfing, my people change the way
Your people look at life, our beliefs stay the same:
Always spread aloha,
Protect the keiki
Be good to the land,
Ohana over everything
So while the world chooses war over peace once again
My colors stay true
And I’m proud of my skin
