You may or may not know,
I am a plant lover.
Fourteen years back,
on this day,
I came to the USA,
to start an immigrant life,
in California.
All the flora here,
were so different,
from what I knew,
in my homeland, India,
which was disorienting to me.
How can I love and connect,
to a place.
if I don’t know its plants?
I dove into learning.
It wasn’t too difficult,
with the internet,
and social media groups,
By the end of a year,
I knew the vast majority
of the trees!
I can’t tell you
how important,
that decision was,
for now, I go to nature,
to meet the plants,
as if my loved folks,
To hug,
the sycamores and oaks,
My life is better
for the connection,
to these sessile angels.

I have a house plant that is a smaller version of the vine in your pic. Bigger than what they call Christmas cactus, though
Nature really does make our life better :-)
