Proud Eagle

Proud Eagle Poem

By Sarah-Jayne HucksPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

A wandering, enjoying the summer breeze,

When behold I hear, a screeching on high.

As I turn to see what disrupted the peace,

I see a surprising yet fierce scene in the sky.

Two young eagles with talons held out,

In the midst of a battle while on the fly.

Yet unknown to me, I was being watched,

Just metres away was a piercing eye,

The Queen of the eagles awaiting her champion,

Filling me with awe, oh me oh my.

So with nervous respect, I go away,

I leave them be with a deep sigh.
