Propaganda Machine

A poem

Red rushing, orange embers

Painting fiery ash across their faces

Evacuating, forced to find other places

Unsafe water, unsafe living spaces

Immigration, migration, discrimination

Mitigation, Manipulation, Capitulation,

Greed, greed, greed.

The pieces fit together so well

A nightmare I wanted to expel

From my memory, but instead,

Everything is almost melding into one.

I remember the day of the solar eclipse

The way the sunlight

Made this yellowish haze in the air,

As if I was now seeing and perceiving

this world in a new way

It was not completely dark,

just dark enough to show where the

Creepy shadows hide,

Where there are

Deceptions and lies

Where innocent truths

are buried

Inside.

In the propaganda machine,

They all hide.

This one really hits deep! It feels like an urgent call to see beyond the surface, to confront what's hidden in the shadows. The repetition of "greed" really makes the message stick. It’s intense and thought-provoking!
