Proof You Stayed

for the girl who carved pain into poetry

I remember that feeling—

the nothingness,

or the everything

all at once.

.

I remember

the numbness that swallows

when you need most to feel.

The powerlessness

that weighs heavier

than silence.

.

I know you’re struggling.

I know this feels

like the only way out.

.

It’s okay.

I got you.

.

If this is what you need to keep going,

then I’ll protect you.

I’ll stay with you

until you believe

there’s a future.

.

These lines will heal—

become quiet battle scars,

proof that you stayed

when staying felt impossible.

.

I never wanted you to suffer.

But through this,

you become someone

wiser.

Softer.

Still standing.

.

Even if it meant carving a piece of us,

I’d choose that

over losing you entirely.

.

This isn’t peace, love.

Not yet.

It’s redirection.

It’s coping.

And for now—

that’s okay.

.

Just get to tomorrow.

.

We heal.

We do.

We never thought we would,

and honestly,

the urges still visit.

.

But we’re here.

.

Three years,

seven months,

twenty-one days—

and counting.

.

Please,

be so careful.

I love you

more than words.

.

You make it through this.
