Prometheus

A Poem

By Mihaela VasilevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

What I create, I must protect,

With duty and diligence most complete.

I must not fall short or reject

Or let myself fall to defeat.

What I create, I observe,

With my imagination most bright.

I cannot fail or deter,

Or let myself sleep at night.

What I create, I must feed,

With knowledge most profound,

I cannot deny the need,

Or let myself make a sound.

What I create, I must control,

With commands most intact.

I cannot be weak or console

Or let myself fail the act.

What I create, I must harm,

With pain most precise.

I cannot cry or raise alarm,

Or let myself fall into demise.

What I create, I must kill,

With death most assured.

I cannot lie or stay still,

Or tell myself I’ve matured.
