Prisms in the Dark are We

Diamonds in the Dust

By Ad-Libbing With The Z-ManPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Prisms in the dark are we—

Diamonds in the dust,

Of nebulae, and galaxies,

And meteoric thrust;

*

*

The form we take is but a means,

To house the witness to our schemes:

A hungry soul caught, passing through,

By these gifts of human hue.

*

*

Thus through a pair of eyes and brain,

Colors set at once to reign.

*

As senses, all, begin to spark,

Chasms echo in the dark;

By way of strings of neural paths,

The heart and soul, emotions grasp;

The body, soothed by welcome tinge,

Is touched by bliss,

Set free;

Unhinged.

A fleeting moment shines within.

*

*

*

Each of us, though set apart,

By our wants and needs at heart,

Are all bound by purest light,

Ever near, yet out of sight.

*

That light, you see, shines through us all.

Refracting it, we do enthrall.

Through us,

We prisms,

Colors fall.
