Pretty Fireworks In The Sky

Make Me Feel Scared

I love the pretty colors that dazzle in the sky,

I love seeing children happy on Bonfire night,

I like to watch them from my window,

Though the noises make me shiver,

I love the smell of Bonfire toffee,

And my favorite Cinder coffee,

But when I hear those loud bangs,

They cause me fear,

And make me panic;

I ask you all to enjoy the show,

Without judging me for being afraid,

I understand those fireworks are to be enjoyed,

Though sweat and fear don't bring me joy,

If you see me crying and shaking,

Please remember,

I still deal with trauma,

Show me that you care,

By remembering that,

Pretty fireworks in the sky,

Make me feel scared.

I used to be scared of them , too. I had a dog who was more fearful than me. I had to comfort him through it all that I forgot about my own fear.
