Pretty eyes (spoken over Every Moment by Jodeci)

Pretty eyes is a short spoken word poem found on page 131 out of my book, Before the world moves on https://www.warringtonpublishing.com/before-the-world-moves-on

By Nathaniel TerrellPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

She offered a glimpse, into her soul as I gazed deep into her pretty eyes

She said she was being honest with me but I already knew that she kept secrets and told many lies

Tests, trials, opposition, and seductions have made me strong, perceptive, and wise

I empathize with losers, I have sympathy for almost but quitters and complainers I despise

Sentiments change and desires pass like the going out and coming in of a tide

We experienced ecstasy under a full moon And once again right before sun rise

When she said, I love you, I laughed to myself while looking deep into her pretty eyes

Wow sometimes it can make you forget about the bad. Almost like falling under a spell. Love is a crazy thing. Great poem, love it.
