Prelude to Slumber
Moment of Silence Challenge Entry - Prelude to In the Arms of Sleep!

Solitude holds me as
I listen intently
Listen to the
evocative empty
nothingness, sinking...
closing my
eyes

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: So was looking at my infamous WIP folder and found this - and realised that I had effectively written a prelude to the In the Arms of Sleep entry for the Moment of Silence Challenge, link below.

I love the personification of solitude. That was so impactful. The whole poem is great as always Paul!
This is lingeringly beautiful, taking you to the depths of both solitude and silence. I really love it.
This would actually work really well paired with the next one, as they contrast in both content but also form. I'm always unsure of what a "line" actually means with these acrostics, as some lines I've seen are like whole paragraphs haha. The brevity and calm here is clear, and would clash nicely with the length but intensity of thoughts in your subsequent entry Paul!
Soothing. I like the repetition of "listen", like it's guiding you to sleep...
THAT sounds nice! Wish I could feel that now instead of the thudding chaos upstairs (in my head). Hah. I live in a one storey house just in case you thought I had noisy neighbours! I’ve few ideas for this challenge and I normally like acrostics. Any tips besides, WRITE!? ✍️
This flows so well. I really liked this. Another great read!
This had such a compelling subtlety to it! Big fan of this one!!
I love that feeling of digging up something old and going... oh this will work!! This was a wonderful peaceful piece, I'll be popping over to check out its friend now!
Concise and fantastic - it really does quickly capture the sensation of drifting towards sleep. Wonderful as always! :)
Wish I was reading this before bed rather than first thing in the morning haha. Great work!
This felt so liberating, Sir Paul! I loved it! 🍩🥐
Peaceful. Goodnight.
Craving this right now.
This could be a nice little prayer one could say as well. Good work.
I feel...sleepy... ;)
