Beloved mother
Of our unborn union,
I bow in humble maleness
Before your mystery
And kiss
The curve of your belly
Wherein, beneath its paleness
Grows the living consummation
Of our love, our warmth,
Our bliss.
Though we seem separate
You carry our oneness within
Both me and you
Together forever
In this tiny soul.
Neither male nor female yet,
And like our lives
The day we met,
Two halves made whole.
Kneeling before your
Pale abdominal altar,
I offer up my life
To you, to this
As living sacrifice,
Poured out as love
With each soft kiss
In joy for what
Our love has done
Forever more
We three are one.
