i’m praying for it to rain
snakes and fire
sharpened bits of steel
rusty razor blades
broken bottles
or…
white tail spiders
on your ceiling fan
red back spiders
in an empty can
but…
if the snakes were on fire
that’d sorta be ok
as long they can wiggle
hiss and bite
don’t want no singed serpents
that haven’t got any fight
still…
reptilian flame suppression
now that’s a new one to me
but then so is praying
i can’t shut my mind
till i open my heart
and that’s where
the trouble
seems to start
give giving gave

Thoughts on Vocal and the way the world is
"Death cannot stop true love, only delay it." – Wesley in The Princess Bride. I decided to come back to Vocal on a very cold and dark night at the end of December. I had been, and still am, convalescing from a horrible staph infection that had gone misdiagnosed for months. This, paired with the increasing challenges of being healthy, making the best choices for my co-parented child, being a wife, and being a director at a new job, was a lot to manage.
