Lord, bless her interests and internal flame,
lead her, not, into paths of shame.
Fill her with joys complete,
and peace she will always greet.
Hold her hand “through the valley of the shadow of death,”
and may she always have a song on her breath.
Bless her future husband and keep him pure,
guide his steps too, wisdom, for him, procure.
May they both obey their parents now,
and in your presence, learn to bow.
May their marriage be blessed always,
and may their hope be high, for all their days.

It's difficult for me to know where to start with a review of this book as it was, for me, an entirely unique experience and one that I'll probably never have again. I don't want that to be interpreted as unenjoyable but it has left me scratching my head a little and ruminating on its content, its themes and its characters.
