Prayers & Grapes

Poem

By Canuck Scriber Lisa LachapellePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

It's us little people

The well worn hearts

The sleeves dripping with feelings

That reach the farthest when times are toughest

That come together in chimes, prayers and grapevines

The damned walk away in a slow shuffle, heads held low revealing their blatant forgeries of minds and wealth like stealth hidden well behind them

While the rich peer into emptiness with kindness a kind of memory held on a string - I used to be there, I used to care, about everything but bargains don't beget hearts very well

So, for indifference wear it well

I'll walk nude then, bare in the circumference of mercy

Tears held inside, a mother and daughter kept in their own inner wailing of their separate worlds and no way out.

This is a very deep poem. Excellent creation ♥️

  • Hate is not the opposite of love, nor is judgement the converse of mercy. Indifference is. May we ever walk with our mercy & love nakedly exposed for all to see, & never allow it to be cloaked with indifference.
