Prayer

empty

Always taught I'm less than

told I can't when I think I can

too emotional when I'd cry

told 'why bother?' when I'd try

glared hisses 'quiet' when I'd speak

love me more if I was meek?

now when confidence needs a boost

why must those lessons instead be loosed?

~

I must find my inner script

one that doesn't leave me ripped

words of love, encouragement

ones that build not leave me bent

confidence around me drape

resolve and surety can take shape

though I am weak may this be true

I am made strong enough through you.

Beautiful poem… love the rhythm and rhyme. So sad, the impact of negativity. Wonderful conclusion.

Found myself swearing at myself last night because I couldn't find my phone. It takes time to rebuild a new self-script, but I'm working on it too.

  • Believe in yourself. You know how good you are, and so do we. Love the image
