Pray It's Never Found

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

You have told me your deepest,

darkest,

disastrous

secrets that could bring your mask down.

I am a lady, but I should not be overlooked

I can be cunning.

How awful it would be to show

the true face behind it all

and have you see your world

crumble

down.

But as I said, I am a lady

willing to put on a smile

and greet those who you know with kindness.

Find the words you used against me

the cruel ways you have painted me

and build upon my case

leveling the playing field between us.

I hold my tongue

if you play my game this time.

You painted me the villain with your words,

now what if I reversed the score?

What a scandal indeed.
