Pour me a drink

As we drown our sorrows

We’ll dance and sing

like there’s no tomorrow

Don’t think upon

tomorrow’s ties

How soon the morning

sun shall rise

For only tonight

we sing and dance

As if it may be

our last chance

And though our thoughts

they try to wander

For now our hearts so close

grow fonder

So in the morning

when you leave

Please try your best dear

to believe

That I’ll wait here

alone and think

Of our night together

when we shared a drink

love poems
