A Meaningful Motto

Post Nubes Lux

After Clouds, Light

rain on the horizon,

what a fretful sight.

-

The sky is alive,

A cacophony of fright

an absence of colour, for which the clouds strive,

an envious tale of the suns light.

-

Seek shelter the sky is abroad,

a brooding malevolence,

to besiege lights accord,

a wilful attempt to dull ev'ry sense.

-

The dark clouds are closing,

a smothering embrace,

the melancholy imposing,

winning the sky, the aerial arms race.

-

All is lost, the dark clouds are looming,

wallow we must, the sky is churning,

yet, unbeknownst to all, below the clouds booming,

Earth is still moving, turning and turning.

-

The tides have turned,

Earth is still moving,

the sky has been churned,

the horizon improving.

-

Bursting forth, lights beam,

the first beacon of hope,

the dreary days are passing, so it may seem,

our limits were tested, all we could cope.

-

When the dark is consuming

and we want to succumb,

remember this, if nothing else,

After clouds, Light!
