Porch Swing

My husband is my best friend on most days

We like to sit outside on the porch swing

At the end of the day we like to laze

We spend most of this time talking, laughing

We listen to music, or watch tv

We even cook marshmallows in fire pit

This is our time together, to just be

Though sometimes our children also come sit

I hold these precious moments in my heart

Of us all on the porch and on the swing

I know soon one day our children will part

And these memories will be like a dream

But ultimately my husband and I

Will be the ones on our swing side by side
