Porcelain God

A poem

By Yasmin Elephant Published 4 years ago 1 min read

You think you can change the perception

You’d take the fabric of meaning and bend it

And the wax lens that we created with our finger

will reform accordingly against it

And I’d pray to the porcelain god,

intending something so spectacular that you just couldn’t resist

And we will not be satisfied because there’s no reason in expecting

And we are not

And I’ll burn another candle and I will even make four,

quickly read the recipe and learn the optimum temperature for aroma

And it’s been a year and I haven’t checked

It’s been a year and you are still fading

It’s been some time and you are empty substance

It’s been a night and I am full

sad poetry
