Raise Your Voice

I was taught by society to sit quietly and be a pretty little girl. “Follow the rules. Do what you’re told."

But enough is enough. I won’t take no more!

Watching rights that many women before us fought for us to have has set a fire in my soul. Seeing the loudest, most ignorant voices being revered as gospel makes me sick and keeps me up at night.

It’s time to stand up. Every little girl who has sat down and shut up. Your time has come. I see you.

We don’t have to be quiet. We can raise our voices.

It is time to be loud and be proud. Stand together, stand up for our rights. Today it’s Roe V. Wade tomorrow it’s our right to vote. I am terrified of the day that women revert to being considered no more than property.

We need to unite and raise our voices or the freedoms we take for granted will be stolen from our daughters, and nieces before they are ever born.

I used to be a sad little girl. A porcelain doll who sat down and shut up. I let the world continue around me.

But no more! I have cast off my shackles of silence.

My voice will no longer be silenced by my fear. I will rise for others no matter who or where they are.

Enough is enough and as an advocate for those who haven’t found their voice, I implore you dear reader to stand beside me. We can’t let hate win the day.
