Pool Side

Sitting poolside and chaize clad con mi amor

We remove our clothes feeling the sunshine spill on our skin.

We can smell the chlorine, bug spray, and lotion pour,

Watching the children in the water swim and spin.

Splashing, splishing, spinning, screaming -

The din deafening ears and minds.

Bathing, sunning, sleeping, and swimming -

We relax into the chaize sleepy and blind.

We lay together,tune out the rest of the world,

slowly slipping into sleep reaching out

Our hands clasped, held, and furled.

Together we erase all questions and doubts.

The world is perfect and right -

We bathe in this peace and delight.
