"Slip the surly bonds of earth"

🪶One came to heal

not just one, but all

One came to steal

just one, created a pall

🪶One came to help teach

him how to sing an old song

One came to leash

keep him where he didn't belong

🪶One came with love

and to make him whole

One came to shove

him back down the dark hole

🪶One gave him choice

with a future so bright

One used their voice

to trigger with their plight

🪶One obeys our God

and goes where he's been asked

One mocks our God

but pretends belief, adroitly masked

🪶One leads to Light

and a future of Life

One leads to Dark

and a future of Strife

🪶One brings blessings

and everything good

One brings messings

and a strong falsehood

+++

Spiritual battle

is not always unseen

Here two swords rattle

between clean and unclean

+++

Sword of Truth

against sword of Lies

one authenticity

one a clear guise

+++

🪶One conquers the trials

by decoding the mystery

One conquers by the wiles

successfully used through history

+++

🪶One sees God's near victory

and one plays a looping game

🪶One came through mystery

as an answered prayer

One came through history

as an addictive fare

+++

so as you can see

they are not at all the same

    The rhythm of this one reminded me of a skipping game. Love the contrast of that against the weighty content. 😁

    Well-wrought! Yet one is the other and the other the one, for in the planets we forget what we remember in the sun...
