Poems from 2019: ‘And the stage goes black…’
The theatre has always been my home.

Staring into a sea of eyes.
Lights up on me as my head starts to rise.
They say to give the audience truth.
But that was way back in my youth.
I fight between what’s true and what’s real.
Why has it such entertaining appeal?
.
The stage goes dark.
I look around to the empty chairs.
Nothing.
Nobody.
Anybody.
Anywhere.
I’m all alone.
.
Between the scenes, I start to cry.
I just want it all to stop
But I don’t want to die.
The only comfort I can manage to find
Is in the gods themselves.
All else are blind.
