Not blank, this page—a pregnant, humming void,

A quantum state of What is yet to be;

Where every choice is simultaneously

Deployed, a trillion futures, unalloyed

By the harsh pen of action. It’s the thought

Before the thought, the pristine, fallen snow

That has not felt a footprint, does not know

The path that one decisive step has wrought.

It is the architect’s first, silent gasp,

The un-carved block of marble, pure, complete,

That holds a form that, once released, will meet

The world and break its symmetry, its grasp

On possibility. It is the code

Not compiled, the symphony unheard,

The final, never-spoken, perfect word

That would have lightened some traveler’s load.

It is the love not offered, hand not held,

The apology that stayed behind the teeth;

The fertile, quiet ground of joy and grief

That grows the flowers we never beheld.

It is the trip not taken, door closed fast,

The conversation with a since-lost friend

That you put off, and cannot now amend—

A monument to moments that have passed.

Yet do not mourn the Unwritten with despair,

Nor see its vast expanse as mere neglect.

It is not failure, nor a lack of respect

For time; it is the very, vital air

That possibility must breathe to live.

For every story inked in final draft

Are countless more that bypassed the craft,

Their potential the one gift they had to give.

The Unwritten is not a barren plain,

But a deep ocean, under a new moon,

A constant, humming, ever-present tune

Of latent power, of sun after the rain.

It is the reservoir of next attempts,

The seed bank of all future, growing things,

The silent, inner strings from which hope springs,

Protected from the world’s corrupting contempt.

So hold your unwritten chapters not as debt,

But as a promise from the self to the soul.

A boundless, untouched, and ultimate scroll

On which your future has not written yet.

The pen is in your hand. The page is clear.

The weight of all that’s possible is a gift.

Draw one deep breath, and let the moment lift—

And write the first word, without fear.

Short Summary :

This professional poem, "Unwritten," reframes the concept of the unwritten not as a lack or a failure, but as a state of pure, potent potential. It explores the unwritten as a quantum field of all possible futures, unmarred by the decisive act of choice. The poem uses metaphors of un-carved marble, uncompiled code, and untrodden snow to illustrate its pristine and powerful nature.

While it acknowledges the melancholic aspect of paths not taken and words unspoken, the poem ultimately argues that this vast expanse of the unrealized is not a cause for regret but a necessary reservoir for creativity and hope. It concludes with a empowering call to action, asserting that the unwritten is a gift of perpetual possibility, inviting us to participate in shaping our future without the burden of fear, one deliberate word at a time.
