Poem: "He"
On days where being with you, is where I can finally be me.

He's like the cool side of the pillow
that you know is there
and you can't wait to be with
He's the hug you always wanted
firm, but never trapping
and held just long enough to mean love.
He's the first bite of fresh-baked cookies
whose warmth feels familiar, but just novel enough
to feel like the first time, every time
He's like your favorite song
who knows with needle-sharp accuracy
what your soul cries out for
Never did my lungs feel so full of air
or my feelings be so unfettered
than on days where being with you
is where I can finally be me.
