Poem: "Finalmente"
"On an Amtrak for three or so days..."

I'm on an Amtrak for three or so days
the sleeper carts are impressive
a slow hum and rattle of metal
is the steady ambiance
for the next eighty hours
I'm riding out my whims
but also following my gut
some days ago were a doozy
and a tether was finally cut
symbolic is this trek
an exoneration of myself
from things that went right to left
what say you, my muse
as we travel back in time?
hindsight clear
insight primed
foresight steady
chair reclined
-------
inspired by the aftermath of letting go of someone.
