A story of rain

Coming down in sheets,

Like liquid linen.

Covering the ground with hopes and promises,

Blanketing and protecting.

Old friend, bringing life.

With it endless possibilities growing.

Sneaking in and nestling down,

Bringing with it that ocean perfume.

Nostalgic memories abound,

rain boots and puddle jumps,

Watching marshmallows turn to stone,

feeling Earth's soul rumble.

Booming, crashing

Majestic symphony.

Light show flashing,

Concert in the clouds

Capturing its own sense of peace.

With books and blankets

With hot tea or coffee,

Staring out into a disastrous blessing.

Destructive yet nurturing

Chaotic yet calming

A sense of wonder in a cautionary tale.

When the sky cries,

Contentment.
